Terrence A. Peter

Terrence A. Peter, 86 years old of Sebastian Florida passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025.

 

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 2, 1938, to Adolph and Martha Peter.  He had spent the first 43 years of his life in Ohio and the last 43 years of his life in Florida. He graduated from Lutheran High School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1955. He received his Bachelors Degree from Dyke College in Cleveland, Ohio in 1965. On September 23, 1962 he married Laverne R. Zellmer.

 

Terry served in the United States Army from 1959-1962.  During that time, he served in Okinawa and specialized in Army Intelligence. Afterwards, he served in the Army National Guard in Ohio for 3 more years.  He was a salesman for most of his career and became an independent Sales Rep for multiple companies.  He received awards during his career for his accomplishments. He and his wife belonged to the VFW.  He contributed to several Charities. He loved fishing, golfing, and traveling. He loved traveling to Canada for fishing trips with his wife, children, family and friends when his children were young.  Then, in later years, he truly enjoyed his time in New Orleans, St. Maarten, and Lake Tahoe with his wife, children and grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his wife Laverne; his 3 children, Dawn (Ken) Snyder in Tiffin, OH, Michele Bauman in Archer, FL, and David (Brooke) Peter in Port St. Lucie, FL.; his 5 grandchildren, Daniel (Bailey) Snyder in Tiffin, OH, Laura Snyder-Elchert in Tiffin, OH, Bradley Bauman, in Gainesville, FL, Samantha (Corey) Dillon in Lake Port, CA, and Matthew Peter in Port St. Lucie, FL; and 7 great-grandchildren; and his sister Cheryl Dunn in Austintown, Ohio

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; Adolph and Martha Peter; and his brother-in-law William Dunn.

A Christian Funeral Service and Burial will be on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 (Terry’s Birthday). Christian Funeral Service is at 10:00 am at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1301 Sebastian Blvd., Sebastian FL 32958 and Burial with Military Honors will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 US – 1, Mims, FL 32754 at 1 pm.
