Sandra Sue Lopez, currently living in Melbourne Beach, Florida passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. She was born in Clarksburg, WV on May 14, 1938, to Pearl Wilson Lantz and Alfred Lantz. She has been a resident of Florida for 6 years moving from Clarksburg, WV. She married James (Fuzzy) Lopez owner of James Lopez Grocery on July 11,1965. Her husband preceded her in death on November 1, 2018.

Sandra graduated from Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg. After graduating she attended cosmetology school and received her Cosmetologist license and started working for Marion’s Beauty Salon. After marrying James and moving to the North View section of Clarksburg she opened her own salon the Provincial Room located on the side of their home on 16th Street. Eventually, she and her business partner opened the Total Look salon on Main Street Clarksburg. During her career, she won several West Virginia State Cosmetology Hairdresser competition awards.

Surviving are her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Regina Lopez Adams and son Tyler (Giovanna) Adams of Virginia, Cynthia Lopez of Homosassa, Fl., Dawna Dennison Powell (Rick now deceased) of Cape Canaveral, Fl and her daughter Shardae Clemons (Dan) Edel, Shawna Dennison Philbin (John) and their children Christopher (Taylor) Bailey of Wilmington, SC., Skyler (Samantha) Philbin, Tanner Philbin and Madison Philbin of Melbourne Beach, Fl, and Mary Kay Lopez and son Nicholas Knaus of Bethel Park, PA.; and six great-grandchildren, Alli Joe Clemons, Adelaide, Oren, Lowell, Harlen and Blythe Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred Lantz and Pearl Wilson Flowers from Clarksburg, WV and brother Thomas Lantz from Wheeling, WV.

Sandra loved cooking and enjoyed canning tomatoes and peppers every fall to give to family and friends and in preparation for the Italian Heritage Festival gatherings in their home.

In keeping with her wishes Mrs. Lopez will be cremated. A family celebration of life will be held in March in Melbourne Beach, Florida.
