Sandra Joan Kunkel

September 23, 1940 ~ December 18, 2024

We remember Sandra Joan Kunkel, better known as Sandy, born September 23, 1940 and departed this earth on December 18, 2024. Sandy was born in Teaneck, New Jersey but traveled the world as her father was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. Sandy was a beacon of kindness and left an indelible mark on our hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.

Sandy was a devoted wife and mother and is survived by spouse William A. Kunkel of 45 years, Daughter Jane O’Brien and spouse Patrick O’Brien, Daughter Jill Sotzing and spouse Michael Sotzing, Son Joseph Kunkel and spouse Roxanne Kunkel, Son Dwayne Kunkel and spouse Susan Kunkel. Grandchildren: Christen O’Brien, Tiffany Hasty, Kevin O’Brien, Chelsea Sotzing, Cassandra Kunkel, and Roderick Sotzing. Great Grandchildren: Blake McVety, Victoria O’Brien, Ezekiel McVety, Luke McVety, Ava Hasty, Olivia O’Brien, Hudson Hasty, and Sophia O’Brien. Brother Peter Bostick, Sister Marjorie Silvestre.

Preceded by her father Joseph Bostick, Mother Marjorie Bostick, Sister Geraldine Reed, Sister Nona Howard, Brother Jackie Bostick, and Brother William Bostick.

Sandy worked at Kmart and then CVS as a pharmacy technician. Sandy enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and muskie fishing. Sandy had a competitive spirit and enjoyed playing games on the weekends with her friends.

Sandy will be cremated. She will be remembered as having created a loving family. She was also an amazing historian of the family tree and this will be passed down from generation to generation. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. She was blessed to be married to her love William Kunkel for 45 years.

Father of all mercies and God of consolation, You love us eternally and transform the shadows of death into the dawn of life. Look upon our grief; be our refuge and comfort so that our sadness and sorrow may turn into the light and peace of Your presence. Grant at the end of our earthly pilgrimage we may found in His company with our brothers and sisters. There, You shall wipe away every tear. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
