Ronald (Ron) E. Charvet, 84 gently took God’s hand at 3 am on August 8, 2024, at his home in Vero Beach, with his loving wife and daughters at his side. Ron lived resiliently and courageously with Alzheimer’s Disease for eight years.
Ron was a devoted and adoring husband for 64 years to Dolores (Lola) Charvet Moya; dedicated and loving father to Monica Charvet, Ronald (Tina) Charvet, Jr., Cristina (George) Ellison, Paulina (Joe) Charvet. He leaves his three beloved grandchildren Kyle and Alicia Ellison and Noah Charvet with memories of his sweet demeanor. The love Ron held for his extended family throughout the US and Ecuador will always be ever-present in their hearts.
Ron was born in Quito Ecuador, where his fondest memories as a child include living on his parent’s (Eduardo and Irene Charvet) rural farm with his brother (Mauricio Charvet, Ecuador) and sisters (Ximena Charvet, Ecuador and Gabriela Charvet-Mozee California). He graduated from the Academia Militar Ecuador prior to immigrating to the United States in 1965. Settling in Northern Virginia, he pursued an accounting degree and lifelong career in Finance. Ron realized his dreams of a life of full of opportunities and successes throughout his adult life as an American Citizen. Upon retirement, Ron and his Lola moved to Vero Beach, FL to join their daughters and enjoy sun-kissed days. Even after a lifetime of living in the US, Ron never forgot the peace and joy he found when returning to Ecuador, his Mother Land.
Anyone who knew Ron would say he was a quiet man – a man of few words. He preferred to show his love in gestures; to be an observer rather than a participant, leaving the attention for others. Nevertheless, his passion for life was most evident when he played his beloved accordion. Ron was a self-taught musician who suffered hearing loss as a child. With no formal musical training, his determination and tone exploration became a wellspring of beautiful melodies he shared exuberantly. Ron enjoyed walks in nature, traveling, photography and had a keen eye for antique treasures. Above all, Ron was a kind-hearted, honorable and a true gentleman who will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A private service will be held at home in Vero Beach. Those who want to participate virtually may find information here forthcoming. Ron’s final resting place will be in at his beloved forever home in Ecuador. Tribute Donations may be made to https://rb.gy/h19ihx in honor of Ronald Charvet.
