It is with a heavy heart that i find myself here. I can only imagine the sorrow felt by those who knew him and of course loved him. He was my unappointed mentor in my high school years at carthage central. During a very difficult time in my life, he made me feel my life had value. His encouragment gave me drive. To his family i am sorry for your loss. The news of his passing has reached far and wide. He will be sorely missed, but lives on in our memories. God bless

We are so sorry to hear of Roger’s passing. We have not seen you (Jean) or Roger for a while but would love it when you two would
“pop in” for chit chat and catch ups! Memories and Roger’s art will sustain us all who had the pleasure of knowing him and possessed some of his ink drawings. He will surely be missed by all but never forgotten.

Jean, I was sorry to hear of Roger’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I think of the two of you whenever I pass Dave and Val’s house. The house across theirs will always be the Toomb house. We had good years together working for Carthage Schools. I finally retired last year. Take care and remember all the good years.

Always known as MR. Toombs to me….I will remember him as probably my very favorite teacher from Carthage Central. After graduating ..he was instrumental in getting me a job as a sign painter at General sign…I will always be grateful to him for this. In later years…Jean, Roger my husband Skip and I enjoyed many a night watching the big blocks at Can-Am…. And how exciting it was when Roger got his “big 8 point” right on their own property! What wonderful memories! We send prayers and hugs to you Jean to help you through this difficult time….and prayers for Roger’s soul to rest in loving peace.

Dear Jean – I am sorry to hear of Roger’s passing. I hope you remember me from Cape Vincent or at least remember the many Chats I had with you and Roger at Aubrey’s Restaurant. Our chats were about Fort Pierce Fl. (surrounding area) and my visits there when I lived in Jensen Beach Fl. and the wonderful natural wildlife art he produced that I loved. His talent was awesome. He brought in a couple of his wonderful wild life prints one day and gave me a choice of having one for myself and I took one of an Owl. I value and hold this very close to my .heart as my Art treasure from a real talented artist and the first one I ever personally met and knew. I’ve often wondered about you both and if you were still in Ft. Pierce Fla.. God Bless you and give you strength and help during this time and keep you well. Sincerely Pat Regan Cape Vincent NY

My condolences to you and your family. I very much loved working with you both getting your home ready to sell in West Carthage. In my 30 years of being a Real Estate Broker I never had clients that were so delightful and appreciative of the help I gave them. You sent me and my broker a wonderful thank you letter and a very. Generous gift. I still have that letter in my career file. It was people like yourselves that made my business a joy. Roger will be sadly missed by his friends, family and community. May he Rest In Peace for ever-after, and may you be sustained by all your loving memory’s.

Hi Jean, Ernie and I finally made it up to the River today and as always you and Roger were on our minds. You two were our first friends when we bought our home in 2003 next to yours. We have had many laughs and memories over the years. Your love for one another was very obvious the two of you were meant for each other. So sorry for your loss, he is in peace and will be remembered through his artwork and his laughter.
