Robert “Bob” Lee Crawford, 78, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Evelyn Crawford. He is survived by his children, daughter Jackie (Todd) Parker and son, Robbie (Frances) Crawford, his former spouse Maria Crawford,
five cherished grandchildren who were the light of his life: Steven, Emily, Chase, Aiden, and Mason. Another constant was his six siblings: Don (Gerry), Ken (Roseanne), Dennis (Gloria), Tracy, Stan, and Phyllis (Peter) Duque.
He had several nieces and nephews with whom he had a special bond: Gary, Chris, Eric, Marc, Jennifer, Dan, Michelle, Kelsey, Elisa, and Andre; several great nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Bob was well known and active in the X-ray community. He worked as a radiologic technologist for over forty years. He began his career in Miami, Florida, before moving to Vero Beach to assume the position of Chief X-ray Technician at Indian River Memorial Hospital.
He also served on the Advisory Board at Indian River Community College when they started their Radiography Program. He later started and owned Southeastern Micrographics, a microfilming company. He subsequently returned to x-ray in the late 90’s.
He enjoyed umpiring Little League baseball for many years and was an enthusiastic Vero Beach Fighting Indians fan; rarely missing a game. He was also an avid fan of Miami Hurricanes football, volunteering his services as their team x-ray tech for all home games.
More than anything, Bob enjoyed being around his family and friends and giving of his time to anyone who needed it. His big smile and generous nature will be dearly missed.
