Richard “Richie” Henry Olander

Richard “Richie” Olander, 71, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away on Wednedsday, December 18, 2024 at his home, with his wife by his side. Richie, a longtime resident of Bayonne, New Jersey, before relocating to Florida in 2009, was born on September 21, 1953 in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of the late Henry Olander and Florence (Kowalski) Olander.

Richie is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Denise (Mazzoni) Olander. He is also survived by his daughters Kelly Smith and Kerry Olander; his son, Rick Olander; his stepson, Chris Moore; his stepdaughters, Danielle Moore and Dawn Mcauliffe (and her husband Billy); 7 grandchildren, Alyssa Beenders (and her husband Kevin), Skylar Collins, Isabella Moore, Madison Smith, Mackenzie Campbell, Jayden Mcauliffe and Jase Campbell; and his great-grandson, Hudson Beenders. He was the loving brother to Maryanne Olander and uncle to Lori Goscinski (Ray) and Eric Olander (Samantha) as well as many other great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Richie was preceded in death by his father Henry Olander, his mother Florence Olander and his brother Donald Olander.

Richie leaves behind many friends in both New Jersey and Florida. He worked 35 years for the United States Postal Service in Bayonne, as a Carrier and Supervisor. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Richie enjoyed bowling, shooting pool and talking to everyone and anyone. He loved the Raiders and the Mets and enjoyed going to spring training games. He will be fondly missed by everyone who knew him and greatly missed by those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in New Jersey at a date to be announced in the future.
