Peter Mark Wisniewski, 75, of Tradition, Florida, passed away on January 4, 2024 with his loved ones by his side. He was born in Passaic, New Jersey on June 17, 1948, to Lottie Stankiewicz and Peter Joseph Wisniewski. He had been a resident of Tradition for two years after moving from North Hutchinson Island, where he had retired in 2015. Peter graduated from The University of the State of New York’s architecture program. He met Stephanie Hilbert on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, where he had his own architecture practice. The couple were married on September 17, 1977, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. It was in that area where they started their family and lived in a home Peter designed in Manahawkin, New Jersey until they relocated to Fort Myers, Florida in 1989. There he worked as a municipal architect for Lee County Government designing a wide range of buildings and facilities ranging from bus stations to libraries to fishing piers. Peter and Stephanie stayed in Fort Myers until retirement.
Peter loved to spend hours sitting at the beach reading a book. He would order a Bloody Mary at any time of the day. Peter found delight in a generous portion of food. He loved finding a good deal. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, lifting weights, and running. He was always eager to show his friends photos of his tomatoes, talk about his latest workout, and finish the last few bites on a loved one’s plate.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie Wisniewski and his children Mark Kim Wisniewski of Fort Myers, Florida, and Kira Lee Wisniewski of Baltimore, Maryland.

I’m so sorry for your Dad passing from this life so soon! I didn’t know we shared the NJ connection, my parents were from Passaic!
Peace to all of your hearts! Cherish those memories! Nothing like a Jersey tomato, and if he was able to grow one in FL that was a true sign of a green thumb!

My dear Stephanie,
I am so very sorry for the loss of Peter. He was a wonderful man , your soulmate, and a friend. I first met Peter when he volunteered to serve on his community board which I managed. Then I met you and we all became fast friends, sharing many laughs, thoughts, gardening tips, and yes those lovely tomatoes. Your move to Tradition was so exciting for you both, and I also missed my friends, having moved shortly thereafter as well. I am glad we were able to talk yesterday and catch up — so sorry that it was under these circumstances. Hang in there Stephanie, keep breathing and take each day as it comes. Give yourself time. And I’m here for you — just a phone call or text away.

I met this wonderful man and we fell in love. It has lasted all this time and always will. Peter loved everyone in our family, they felt the same. Kira, Mark and Shannon, he was proud of them. I miss him but we will be together again.
