Peter M. Calandra

Peter M. Calandra, 85, of East Kingston NH, passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2025 following a brief illness. Peter was born on June 29th, 1939 in Buffalo, New York. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Elizabeth (Turchiarelli) Calandra and his brother Anthony J. Calandra. Peter grew up in Lackawanna, New York and attended Canisius College where he earned a degree in Chemistry, graduating in 1962. He served in the US Army Signal Corps from 1958 to 1964. Peter first worked at an industrial company where he helped develop new types of paints and stains. Later he moved his family to Wisconsin and Connecticut, eventually putting roots down in Hamilton, Massachusetts. While living there, Peter worked mostly in developing industrial x-ray equipment for General Electric, Diano Corporation, and Rigaku USA. He was also a patent holder on a position-sensitive detector. In 1980, he started the highly successful company Innovative Technology. In his retirement, Peter enjoyed boating, fast cars (he was a member of the Great Bay Corvette Club, enjoyed following Formula 1, and Cadillac Racing), spending time on numerous home improvement projects for the benefit of friends and family, and wintering in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Peter is survived by his wife, Carmen Winslow, as well as his four children Michael J. Calandra (and his wife Dorothy E.), Christopher J. Calandra, Carmel M. Calandra, and Peter M. Calandra Jr; his nine grandchildren Michele, Brian, Nathan, Jason, Caisi, Lillian, Christina, Victoria (Durney), and Nicole Calandra Fischer, and two great-grandchildren Adeline and Thomas Durney. He is also survived by his sister Michele Zitsch and her husband George, as well as his nieces Krista and Karly Zitsch, nephews Anthony and Douglas Calandra; and his stepson Jason Winslow, (and his wife Andrea) and step-grandchildren Jessica and Jacqueline.

Private burial services will be held at a later date.
