Patricia (Gervasi) Bormett of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully among family on June 21, 2024 at the young age of 80.
Patricia was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Anthony Gervasi and Louise (Norris) Nason. There, she grew up with her three sisters in the Italian neighborhood known as “The Greenbush.” A 1962 graduate of West High School, Patricia later married William Bormett and started a family of her own in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
In 1978 Patricia moved to South Florida with her four children where she eventually became certified as a licensed stockbroker and later transitioned to the legal industry where she worked as Court Reporter for over 20 years. She was most proud of having worked in the Criminal Felony division in Miami, and later during the 2000 Election Ballot Recount in Fort Lauderdale.
Patricia loved children. It was not an unusual sight to see her with a small child on her lap, sometimes with a sock puppet on her hand, often singing some of the same songs that she learned as a child herself. She loved to dance and she loved to dress up. Patricia had a style that was uniquely her own. She also loved going home to visit family in Wisconsin, the long country drives and the endless nights talking about old times while she was there. But most of all, Patricia’s passion was food. She loved everything about cooking. She collected recipes, cookbooks, and kitchenware. She could spend hours getting lost in a grocery store while browsing the aisles. She would watch cooking shows all day long and her favorite television program was “Lidia’s Kitchen.” Patricia was known among her family and friends for her Famous Homemade Cinnamon rolls, which were an all-day event to bake and always made with Love.
One of Patricia’s final statements was that Family was important and to take care of each other.
Patricia is survived by her children Anthony Bormett and his wife Nancy of Vero Beach, Florida; Rebecca Bormett of Madison, Wisconsin; and Theresa Bormett and her husband Brent Del Gaizo of Plantation, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sara Bormett and Samuel Bormett; and by her mother Louise Nason of Stoughton, Wisconsin; and her sisters Carol Cerniglia (Harry) Steudel of Madison, Wisconsin; and Kathy (Bill) Piper of Oregon, Wisconsin.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father Anthony Gervasi, Stepfather Bennett “Red” Nason, Sister Toni (Gervasi) Miyagawa and daughter Catherine Bormett.
There is no service scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Patricia’s honor at Meals on Wheels/Senior Resource Association who ensured her a hot meal every day when cooking for herself became too difficult. https://www.seniorresourceassociation.org/in_remembrance/

Dad and I want to extend our deepest condolences to you, my darling daughter-in-law, and to the rest of your family.
We know your mother’s wish was to someday move back to Wisconsin to be able to join her family again. We are deeply sorry she never got to fulfill this dream.
Your mom was gone much too soon. May she rest in peace. ♥️

What beautiful pictures of Pat. She and I always shared recipes and cooking tips. She was a special lady, with her positive and God filled disposition. Her friends at St. John of the Cross Church in Vero Beach has had a mass said for her. May she rest in peace.
