Nancy Danby Barker

October 09, 1954 ~ August 10, 2024

Nancy Danby Barker, of Fort Pierce, Florida went to the loving arms of God on Aug. 10, 2024 after a long illness.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Ralph Barker of Fort Pierce, Fl., her beloved daughter, Serena Barker of Fort Pierce, Fl, and her brother, Bill Danby, of Cumberland, Va.
Nancy was born October 9th, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas to mother, Jacqueline (Dotson) Glass and Father, Andrew Danby and lived in several different cities most of her early childhood. She moved to Cumberland, Va. when she was 13 years old and lived with her paternal grandparents Lyle and Fannie Danby for several years, and there she met her future husband, Ralph Barker whom she married in December 4th, 1970.
Nancy and Ralph lived in Northern Virginia for several years where Nancy worked for the Federal government. They then moved to Shenandoah County, VA where they lived for 10 years with Nancy working at Rocco Farm Foods in the accounting/data processing department before moving to Pompano Beach, Florida in 1986. Nancy worked in Real Estate, Accounting, Bookkeeping and as an Office Manager in Florida.
In 1996 Nancy gave birth to their beloved daughter Serena Barker, a long awaited addition to the family.
After living and working in the South Florida area until retirement the family moved to Barefoot Bay, Florida in 2015 where they lived until this year 2024 when they moved to Fort Pierce, Florida.
Nancy was a beautiful compassionate soul who loved to read books, especially novels, she loved police crime shows on TV, she loved to swim and she loved the beach and the Florida Keys, where the family took many vacations. Nancy was also an excellent fishing angler, in both freshwater and saltwater.
She is very much missed and loved by her husband, daughter, family and friends.

Nancy was a wonderful woman.
Always had a good word for others. During the years my wife Lois & I knew her she displayed strength and tenacity, as she faced the fullness of life.
The love of her husband and daughter told it all; she received what she so freely gave – love.
May her example lead her family as they and we learn to live life – void of her presence in our day to day lives. May her spirit live on within our hearts.

With all our love we ask God to bless Nancy as well as her loving family.

I met Nancy at the advertising agency. She gave me assignments to do and we became friends. Her kindness and warm way of showing me things I never forget. She spoke of Ralph and Serena that you knew how much she loved them. A wonderful woman that was kind through and through. She will be missed

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
