Michele “Missy” Thiele was born in Rochester, New York on March 28, 1965. Missy has been a resident of Vero Beach, Florida for the past 7 years, previous residences in Grassy Key, Florida; Rochester, New York; and Conesus, New York. Missy graduated from Livonia High School and then chose a career in the construction industry.
She shared her life in Florida with her partner Jackie Strama. The love of the ocean and traveling together created never ending memories. She was happiest when she was in and on the water. Her love of the water began in childhood growing up on Conesus Lake. She became a competitive water skier and enjoyed being part of the ski club with her sister, Mary, and many ski club friends. Missy had an infectious smile and was loved by many.
She is survived by her partner Jackie Strama; her sister, Mary Thiele and partner Jay Keifer; her Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Christopher Krauss; nephew Brett Bridges and his wife, Rachel, grandniece Vivian Bridges; and niece Malory Bridges and her fiancé’, Keith Odell.
She was preceded in death by father Fordyce Thiele and her mother Jeanette Thiele.

Missie was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. I cherish the memories of times we spent together in Charleston and on Dufuskie Island. Getting to know Jackie and Missie has been one of the highlights in my life. So glad you decided to go to Marathon Community church. You blessed so many people with your love of life and your love of God. You will be missed my friend.

In 2021 Scott and I took a trip to the Galápagos Islands. Waiting in the hotel lobby we heard a very loud lady and I thought Boy! Let’s steer clear of her. Well guess who we became best friends with in two days. We paired up with Missy and Jackie for the rest of the trip. We all just clicked. It was like we knew them forever. We’ve stayed in touch and planned on getting together again. I never met anyone with such a love of life even after all she’d been through. I love you Missy, may you find peace in God’s arms.

Aunt Missy was always so warm and welcoming to me as I started my relationship with Brett and joined the family. She was such a bright light in our lives and we always looked forward to our visits with her. She gave the BEST hugs and truly made you feel heard and cared for in every conversation we had.
We will miss her everyday. Vivian will grow up to know Aunt Missy through the good memories we share and the stories we tell about her. She will never be forgotten. We love you Aunt Missy.

“Missy” as we knew her, was a funny and kind individual. I remember her most from our middle school and high school years. She was a great athlete as well. I’m so very sorry to hear of this. Just when you think you’re in your prime of life, God calls you home. I pray her family finds comfort and support in knowing she was a wonderful person. Hold those you love a little tighter tonight. I’m so sorry for this tragic loss.

Missy was such a kind and loving soul. We had such great times in the Livonia school years. When she lived down at DaCola Shores next to my cousin Dawn, we would get into it mischief and just have so much fun. She was always smiling and laughing and was just a fun person to be around. God bless her whole family. Gone way too soon.

I still remember the first time I shook Missy’s hand. There was an instant connection from the beginning. Her laugh. Her voice. I can hear it in my head as I type this. The way she carried herself, her philosophy on life, not to mention just the coolest chick you would ever meet…She has inspired me to live a better life. When I think of who I want to be like, it’s Missy.
My heart goes out to all friends and family, but there is a special place for Jackie. All the memories the two of them have made. It’s so amazing.
Missy will always have a place in my life. This is not the end! We will meet again one day. Say hi to Kateri, Missy. Much love.❤️

I first met Missy when I started coaching women’s softball in the 1980’s. She always wore a smile and seldom did I see her mad, except on bad calls from refs. She was a delight to be around, and will be sorely missed, RIP Missy.
