Maria (Rega) Picardi, 84, of Melbourne Florida passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 30, 2024. Born in Avellino, Italy, Maria immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island in 1954. Her American dream began in Springfield, MA working at Scafidi Tomato Company and was later joined by her cherished husband Domenico. In 1964, they opened 2 Guys Pizzeria in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield proudly operating for 3 decades before retiring to Vero Beach, Florida. Maria loved spending time with family and friends chatting over a good cup of espresso, cooking delicious food, baking desserts and sharing her homemade Limoncello. Maria is predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years Domenico. Maria is survived by a sister, Soccorsa (Rega) Apruzzese of NJ and brother, Leopoldo Rega of FL; three dear children, Carmine of Agawam, MA, Anna Lisa of Melbourne, FL, Mathew and wife, Cindy of Belchertown, MA; five beautiful grandchildren, Mia, David, Nicholas, Matteo, Gianna; one great grandchild, Logan, along with several nieces and nephews in Italy and the United States. Maria will be laid to rest and a celebration of life with family and friends will follow at a later date. Arrangements are with Millennium Cremation Service, Vero Beach, FL.
