Lorraine Horn Spinney, age 83, of Micco, Florida formerly of Reading, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Lorraine was born on October 9, 1939, in Winchester, Massachusetts, to the late Ralph T. Horn and Jennette (Woods). She married William Spinney, Jr., on December 11, 1957 and they spent 65 years together.
Family was a priority for Lorraine and her masonic life was a centerpiece of her life (Reading Assembly #29 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and Priscilla Chapter #52 Order of the Eastern Star). She was a proud 1957 graduate of Reading Memorial High School and served as an office manager at Addison-Wesley Publishers School Division and TASC. Lorraine loved her retirement in Florida where she enjoyed entertaining family and friends, serving her community, and found a passion for quilting.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; children, Debbie of Greenwood, Indiana, Scott of Reading, Massachusetts; grandson Ryan of Reading, Massachusetts; brother Larry (Karen), sister Ellen, brother in-law Peter (Sally), several nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents.
She will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Reading, Massachusetts at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Health First Foundation at https://hf.org/healthcare-home/health-first-foundation/make-donation – directing support to William Childs Hospice House in memory of Lorraine Spinney.
