Kavin A. Leonard

January 14, 1954 ~ March 08, 2021

Kavin A. Leonard, 67, died Monday, March 8, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic in Indiana River, Florida. He was born and raised and lived his entire life in the Pocono’s until moving to Florida 9 months ago.

 

Born in East Stroudsburg Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late John W. Sr., and Madeleine G. (Merrill) Leonard.

 

Kavin graduated from Pocono Central Catholic High School, Cresco PA in 1972.  He served as a Volunteer Firefighter in Barrett Township, Cresco PA for several years.  During his teen-age years, he was a mechanic at Mick Motors, Cresco PA.  He was a career CDL long-haul Truck Driver with over 600,000 hours and top awards for safe driving until his retirement.

 

Kavin was an avid NASCAR fan and Hunter.  He enjoyed restoring cars and spending time with friends at the Scranton RailRiders Baseball Games.

 

He is survived by his Twin Sister’s: Dolores (Lori) Leonard and her husband, Randy Zona of Saylorsburg PA; and Debra Leonard-Mertz of Fayetteville, PA.  He is also survived by his late brother Timothy’s wife Lynn Kroenung Leonard of New Berlin, NY; and by his late Half brother Robert’s wife, Pat Shank of Jay Maine.  He is also survived by two half–sisters, Brenda Beaulieu and Florence Bryant of Livermore Falls, Maine.  He is survived by his children, John Kavin Leonard and his wife Amanda Kuhr of Reeders, PA; Kimothy Swartley and her husband Dwight, Bradford County, PA; Sara Leonard of Columbus, GA; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his extended family, Don Mick, James Mick, and Richard Mick of Cresco, PA.

 

Kavin was preceded in death by his brother’s:  John (Fawn) Leonard, Jr. of Cresco, PA; Timothy Leonard of New Berlin, NY, and half-brother’s Robert and Rodney Shank of Jay, ME. He was predeceased by a son, Brian Leonard in infancy, and Foster Mother, Ann Mick of Cresco, PA.
