It is with great sadness that the family of Kathryn May announce her passing. Kathryn passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023, in Vero Beach after a long and full life. She was the matriarch and the heart and soul of the May Family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband William May last June 2022.
Kathryn was born in New York and earned her nursing degree. She spent her entire career as a nurse caring for others. She married the love of her life William May and they celebrated 65 years of love and devotion to one another. In the 1960’s they moved to Miami with their 6 children. In Miami they became an integral and beloved part of the St. John Neuman Catholic Church where she sang as a soprano in the church choir. Kathryn was a friend to all that met her, she always had a kind word to say, an easy laugh and twinkle in her eyes.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters, Bill May Jr., Kathy May, Peter May and his wife Karen, Patti May and her husband John Carpenter, Terry Mallo and her husband Emilio, Tom May and his wife Angela and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

To the May family –
I didn’t know Kay personally, though have heard good things about her. My grandmother and Kay were cousins; I have a picture of them all up in Connelly. It is a sad thought to think that all the original cousins have since passed on, but it is comforting that they are all in Heaven reuniting and seeing each other after many years of being apart. My grandmother was Dorothy Schreiber Hartmann, who lived in North Bergen, NJ.
Please accept my sincerest condolences, I know she will be missed.
