Kathleen M. (Ott) Cabanas, 64, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on June 23, 2024, following a lengthy illness.

Kathleen was a Vero Beach native, born on December 23, 1959, to George W. and Heather E. Ott. She graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1977. After studying accounting at IRCC she held numerous and varied accounting positions in Vero Beach.

Kathleen was predeceased by her father, George W. Ott and her grandfather, Willard B. Ott. She is survived by her daughter, Brittany P. (Kyle) Meyer;

Kathleen will be greatly missed by her entire family, yet we rest in the knowledge that we will all be together again one day in eternity through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kathleen’s favorite scripture: Philippians 4:6-7
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

There is no service scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations in Kathleens memory be made to the VNA Hospice House, at 901 37th Place #101, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.

So sorry for your loss
Our families were next door neighbors on 25th Ave.
I remember doing handstands and flipping around in the yard as kids.
It’s been a lot of years, but I remember!
LOVE and LIGHT to you all.

A memory that came to me was learning to snow ski in North Carolina at Beech Mountain with Kathleen and the crew. Fun times together.
I’m thankful that Kathleen trusted in the Lord and knew His love for her, for there’s nothing greater than the love of the Lord! She is with Jesus now in complete peace and will be spending all eternity with Him. What an awesome blessing✨

I’ve known Kathleen since her sister, Evelyn became friends in 9th grade. Always happy and smiling even back then. She had a wonderful family and great support during her illness. She will be very missed by her sisters and her special mother. May all your happy memories give you joy and a smile.

My sister was brave. She believed in her miracle and was a warrior through her pain and condition. She would start to cry and turn into singing to the Lord. Kathleen was the person in control of her care through her ending.
She would want everyone to know that she is at peace.
She would tell everyone to memorize scripture as if it was your bank.
She would say to raise your children in the church.
She loved dogs and then say, “all animals.”
She would say live simple.
And most of all she would say,
“LOVE ONE ANOTHER.”

I miss my Aunt Kat. I miss knowing that she is no longer just a text message or short drive away. I think about her every day. And can’t wait to hear her contagious laugh again one day in heaven. ❤️

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Sister Kathleen, I will miss you always while on this earth… we shared so much through our lives..so many memories, there are just no words to express my feelings… having said that, I believe with all my heart the above scripture from Revelation 21:3-4 ~ I will see you again! We will rejoice together, singing praise and worship to our King of Kings!! Love you evermore! ❤️

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
