Kathy went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 22, 2025, at home with her family by her side.
She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Jean Geiger and C.P. Clements on September 22, 1953.
Kathy grew up in Dallas, Texas, where she attended Woodrow Wilson High School, graduating in 1971. She went on to continue her education at Texas Tech University.
Kathy dedicated 34 years of her life to her career as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines. During her time there, she became deeply involved with the Wings Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports Flight Attendants facing hardships and disasters. In 1993, she became the Team Director for the Washington Base. In 2001, she was named the National Treasurer, and from 2003 to 2006, she served as National President. Kathy was honored with the Foundation’s highest award, the Marie Lockbaum Award, in recognition of her dedication and service.
While living in Rockwall, Texas, Kathy met the love of her life, Woodruff (Woody) Crandall, LT, USN. They were married in November 1985 after moving to Fairfax, Virginia. Their journey together took them to San Jose, California, where they welcomed their two sons, Clayton and Cortland. Eventually, they moved back to Clifton, Virginia, before finally settling in Melbourne, Florida, in 2013.
Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Woody; her son’s Clay and Cortland Crandall, as well as Clay’s wife Daniele Crandall, and her cherished granddaughters, Isabella and Madison. Kathy is also survived by her siblings, Donna Morgan, Lisa Filroy, Sharon Geiger Turner, and Michael Geiger with his wife Karen. Also mourning her loss is her loyal four-pawed friend, Belle.
Kathy had a heart of gold. She was always ready to help anyone in need. She was a wonderful friend, a devoted wife and mother, and a loving big sister. Her kindness, strength, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Wings Foundation at www.wingsfoundation.com or to the American Cancer Society’s Esophageal Cancer Center.

Kathy was always a ray of sunshine and so much fun in high school. We had several classes together in high school while attending Woodrow. Lots of fun adventures and slumber party fun growing up as teenagers!

So many fond memories of our boys playing on the pipe stem in Little Rocky Run! We will cherish our times together – those precious years of raising boys! Woody, Clay and Cort – we love you and our prayers are with you! As we pass by your old home in the neighborhood – we still refer to it as the Crandall’s. Sending love and hugs! xoxo Bob and Joanie
