Josephine C. Gugliotti

August 08, 1931 ~ July 16, 2024

Josephine C. Gugliotti, 92, Sebastian, FL

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend

Josephine C. (Linares) Gugliotti entered the gates of heaven, just 3 weeks shy of her 93rd birthday, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Francesca Hermosa and Celodonio Martinez in Summit, NJ on August 8, 1931.

Josephine spent her early years in Manhattan, NY, where she met the love of her life, Frank, while he was serving in the US Coast Guard. The couple planted roots in Waterbury, CT, where they worked and raised their family until relocating to Florida in the late 1980s. Together, they enjoyed traveling – they cherished trips to visit family in both Italy and Spain, and especially enjoyed sailing on more than 100 cruises, many with their best friends, Manny and Aida Sanchez of FL. Frank and Jo celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on April 16th.

Jo was an outstanding chef, known for her many special dishes and the delicious cakes she baked from scratch to celebrate important events in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including painting, ceramics, BINGO, trips to the casino, reading, and keeping up with current events. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Having lived a very full life, she loved to reminisce and share stories of the past.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Frank, of Sebastian, FL, and her children: Joe Gugliotti and his wife Debra of Wolcott, CT/Jupiter, FL; Linda Sallstrom and her husband Carl of Tolland, CT; and Lisa Kiley and her husband Mike of Sebastian, FL. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Nick Fasano and his wife Lori, Jaime Thomas and her husband RJ, Julee Busalacchi and her husband Joe, Jessica Morrison and her husband Dan, Jojo Gugliotti, and Katie Marquardt. She also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren: Frank Anthony (deceased 2000), Madison, Nico, Adrianna, Kiley, Siena, Gia, Olivia, Haylee, Ava, and Hudson. She is survived by her sister in New Jersey Emily Hart and her husband Dan and siblings in Oviedo Spain, Celedonio, Marina, Martina, and predeceased by her sister Placeres (Placi). She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her step-father, Jose Hermosa, and her mother and father-in-law, Nicola and Orsola Gugliotti.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
