So sad to hear of the passing of my dear ex-brother inlaw. I pretty much grew up in that household and fell into line as one of the sons. Joe was a very loving respectful Stern father who taught us respect and how to treat others. Many years has passed since I’ve actually been close with Joe but once you have the integrity and honor that that man had the love he showed and the love he gave I loved him right back. This really saddens me and my prayers are with the close immediate family. Rest in peace Joe you are a great man

Joe was one of those people that when you met him you were friends.
I met Joe while working at a steel mill many years ago, Joe was very intelligent, funny, carrying and just a great friend, if you needed help in anyway Joe was there. A couple weeks ago I texted Joe and asked him how he was feeling, he proceeded to tell me all was great he’s going to beat this, I told him he better be because I had no idea what I was going to do if I couldn’t text him which we did often, he told me he would take his phone with him if he was no longer here. I will be waiting for that text Joe.
You rest peacefully now my friend, I will miss you terribly.
