So sorry to hear the loss of my dear friend Gervais. have not seen or talked to him in close to 30 years, but that does not change the feeling I had for that man. We had some good times together and I was lucky to have known him.RIP my friend and may the Lord comfort Debbie and the Brothers in their loss.

So sorry to hear about Gervase’s passing. I remember his mother Rita, father Jesse and all the boys living in Lee Hall Apts. in Portsmouth, VA, like it was yesterday, when it was actually in the 1950’s. RIP Gervase.

John, Larry and Marty Kay,
You have been like brothers to the Lane girls; this loss hits extremely hard.
Memories of Rolly Bat, climbing the Love Log in the creek, catching minnows, while crabbing, and other shenanigans are still fresh in my mind and I welcome those happy thoughts at learning this very sad news.
Gervaise was one of the kindest, most gentle men I’ve known.
We’re so glad we were able to connect in Colorado Springs for a brief visit.
Give our regards to dear Rita and your pop, Jesse. I know your mom had a lovely cake awaiting your arrival.
Blessings to your family,
Ellen Lane Dozier

My sincere condolences to the Mahan family. I have fond memories growing up with Gervace and John and working with their Mom Rita at NNSY. The last time I saw Gervace, along with John, Larry and Marty was at Rita’s 90th birthday celebration. That was a great party!
I will keep you all in my prayers.
