Harry F. “Rick” Eggleston, Jr.

March 21, 1954 ~ July 10, 2024

With heavy hearts we are announcing that our brother, Harry F Eggleston Jr (Rick) 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 10th 2024 in his home in Sebastian Florida.

He was born in Manchester Ct on March 21st 1954 to Harry F Eggleston Sr and Patricia (Fagan)Eggleston.

Rick graduated from Manchester High School and then traveled across country with friend, settling down for approximately 13 years in Durango Colorado, where he had made some great friends.

He then moved to Florida where he lived out the remainder of his life, also making an awesome group of friends which he would spend most Saturday afternoons with them at different locations.

Rick was a passionate guitarist and loved entertaining, whether it be with his guitar or telling a joke. He was a master finisher making custom cabinets and furniture.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Vicky.

Rick was a wealth of information about many topics, making him a great conversationalist.

He leaves his sisters Kathi Eggleston of Salem NH and Debra Melesko of Bolton CT and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private celebration of life and only asks that you keep Rick in your prayers and memory.

“The song is ended but the melody lingers on “ -Irving Berlin- Sleep well my brother, love you

I met Rick in Durango in 1974 , he was the 1 st person I met there actually . He was a dear friend of Bob Bartel , who pre deceased him some 5 years or so ago .Bob was also a dear friend of mine as well . I loved Rick , he was a brother ! He was so very kind , he had a great sense of humor ,and wit , and he knew the ins outs of the human condition .l loved listening to him play the guitar and dobro , he excelled at both ! He and I spent many righteous days together! I cannot believe that he is now gone from us , I and many others will miss him sorely ! Goodbye my friend of 50 years , I will miss you so very much , my compadre !

I am so sad to hear that, he was a close friend when I was married to Duane Tucker and he worked for him. I have wondered for years how his life has gone. I hate hearing he passed, I would have loved to hang out with him in his later years. My condolences to his family and friends.

If Ricky was around there was laughter & good times. I doubt that will change no matter where he is. He will be missed.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
