In Loving Memory of Gian “Lilly” Ridout
November 3, 1930 – December 13, 2023
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Gian “Lilly” Ridout of Palm Bay, Florida, in the early hours of Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at her home at the age of 93. A woman of incredible strength, passion, and kindness, Lilly’s life was a remarkable journey filled with unique experiences and enduring love.
Lilly is survived by her husband, Norman Ridout, her daughters, Renata Mayes, Andria Boullt, and Diana Lassiter; grandchildren Austen West, Lexi Beverly, and Milton Lassiter; and great-grandchildren Chloe Mayes, Maci Beverly, Marissa West and Harley Lassiter. She is predeceased by her grandchildren, Adrian West and Nicholas Lassiter.
Born on November 3, 1930 in Milan, Italy, Lilly’s life was a rich tapestry of adventure and faith. She was a passionate painter and gardener, cultivating a diverse and sometimes rare collection of flowers and plants. Her garden was a reflection of her love for the beauty and diversity of nature.
Lilly’s adventurous spirit was evident in her younger years when she roller-skated in a well known Italian circus. Her achievements were extraordinary, winning medals for her performances.
In her leisure, Lilly enjoyed card games, especially Uno and Phase Ten, and had a sweet tooth that could not resist a chocolate éclair or a warm, fresh Krispy Kreme doughnut.
Upon learning about Jehovah God, Lilly dedicated her life to sharing her faith and spreading joy. She has been one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 53 years. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and an unshakable spirit. She touched countless lives through her preaching, witnessing, and the simple acts of kindness that defined her. She will be profoundly missed, but forever remembered by all who knew her. John 5: 28, 29 jw.org.

Lilly was a force of nature and a source of comfort and guidance for me. She provided much needed sanctuary when even my own family members were absent. To me she was everything I needed to help me grow spiritually and emotionally. She will leave a huge void in the lives of everyone she knew.

Dear Mayes Family, We’re so sorry to hear about your mom passing away. She left such a wonderful legacy! I’m sure you take comfort in knowing that she’s in the safest place in the universe—Jehovah’s memory. I look forward to meeting her in paradise and asking her to teach me her painting techniques.

When they say death is the enemy I truly know the affect. It stings and make you numb and we have that hope in Revelations 21:4 however our imperfections and our woes can cut deep.
Please keep Jehovah
and rely on him as much as you can. Please accept our deepest condolences from me and my husband.

Dear Mayes Family, ..I know these past 2 years have been difficult for your family. My sincere condolences to you again, I’m so sorry to hear of your mom passing. But you, Renata and I have had conversations about the resurrection and your mom was a servant of Jehovah loyal to the end. So your family can have comfort with the hope of the resurrection;Rev21:3,4. And peace of mind that she is in Jehovah’s memory and he will bring her back to life in the near future. May Jehovah give you comfort and strength.

Ms. Lily’s imprint on the lives of those she shared her fierce and loving energies with will forever be felt. To her family, my deepest sympathy for your loss. I had the honor of meeting her over the summer in her dedication to her witnessing and we bonded over our open and spirited conversations. Her dedication to Jehovah and belief in the truth of each word in the bible were strong and evident. Yet, she allowed one to be true to one’s understandings and thoughts, even if they did not always align with hers. She was a spiritual force that embodied love, patience, kindness, tolerance and hope. She touched my heart! Thank you for supporting her in her efforts of sharing herself with the rest of us! She loved you dearly. May she forever rest in the beauty of eternal peace.
