Chad Eric Thompson passed away at his home in Sebastian, Florida on September 11, 2024, surrounded by his devoted family.  Chad grew up in Annapolis, Maryland where he met his wife, Mary, and started his family.  Chad served as a U.S. Postmaster in Davidsonville, Maryland and worked for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired and moved to Florida.

 

Chad was a devoted husband and father. His family was his life, and he loved the outdoors.  He and his family enjoyed spending time together boating, hiking, camping, and canoeing, among many other activities.  Chad is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Janelle (Mark) Aubin (Vero Beach, FL), Troy Thompson (Sebastian, FL), and Karen Wortman (Melbourne, FL); four grandchildren, Jim Sullivan (Boise, ID), Taylor Freeman (Melbourne, FL), Marley Freeman (Melbourne, FL), and Amelia Thompson (Sebastian, FL); great-grandson, Junior Sullivan (Boise, ID); brother, Roy (Winnie) Thompson (Vero Beach, FL); and nephews, Rex (Vicki) Thompson (Vero Beach, FL), and Derek Thompson (Vero Beach, FL).

 

No services are planned at this time. A celebration of life may be held at a later date.

Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days.
