Barnie Lee Guest, Jr.

Barnie Lee Guest, Jr. 89, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on July 21, 2024. He was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and graduated from Messick High School in 1953. He attended the University of Tennessee and then served on active duty in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. After completing his final two years of naval service on a diesel submarine and receiving an honorable discharge, Barnie had a lengthy career in the electrical industry including roles in the Bahamas and Seychelles. He was also a co-inventor and received a patent for a Personnel Locator System (Nurse Call System) in 1991. Barnie is survived by his three sons, Randy Guest (and wife Megan) of Indialantic, FL, Mike Guest of Indialantic, FL, and Monty Guest (and wife Kelly) of Solon, OH; stepson, Tommy Randolph (and wife Kim); mother of his children, Norma Guest; grandchildren, Tyler Guest, Ryan Guest, and Chelsea Ehrmantrout (and husband DJ); sister, Mary York (and husband Roy); nieces and nephews, Marilynn Evert (and husband Ken), Gary York (and wife Cathy), and Debbie Wier (and husband Brian). In remembrance of Barnie L. Guest’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to his favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The service will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on a date to be determined. Barnie was preceded in death by his parents, Barnie Lee and Anne Merrill Guest, and his wife, Carolyn Guest.
