Annette Lattof, 91, of Vero Beach, Florida left this world peacefully on September 27, 2022 with her family’s love surrounding her. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years Walter J. Lattof, life partner of 21 years Sheldon A. Pall and parents Mamie and Milham Assaf. Annette is survived by daughter Gail (Craig) Hollenback of Vero Beach, FL, daughter Donna Von Dehsen of Poughkeepsie, NY, daughter Wanda (Richard) Zarrillo of Manalapan, NJ, daughter Laurie (Ralph) Pepe of Hutchinson Island, FL and three granddaughters, Lauren Von Dehsen of San Francisco, CA , Diane Von Dehsen of Poughkeepsie, NY and Chloe Zarrillo of Manalapan, NJ.
Annette raised her four daughters to be independent and educated young woman. Through her compassion, words of wisdom and her unconditional love she was an inspiration to them throughout their lives.
Annette was also a role model to many throughout her professional career. Her career in cosmetology began when she was young, helping her mother in her salon. Later in her high school years she attended night school after a full day of academia.
Annette’s career spanned 5 decades working in Manhattan, owning her own salon and then teaching in Brooklyn, NY. She attended college at night earning her teaching degree and was recruited as acting principal at the Sarah J. Hale Annex in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. During these years she was sought after to work in Albany for the state creating the written exams and to certify cosmetology teacher candidates. Annette also held positions as the director of several Wilfred Beauty Academies across the Triborough region. The accomplishments of her students in the classroom and those she placed in the workforce were very gratifying for her.
Annette loved to cook and was a creative chef with or without a recipe. Everyone was always welcome to her table, as time spent with friends and family engaged in lively conversation, was very meaningful to her.
Annette retired and relocated to Boca Raton, FL and then Delray Beach, FL where she enjoyed the sun, sand and sea. She and Shelly pursued every opportunity to travel: from glaciers to beaches, from the Caribbean to Hawaii, from Turkey to Scotland and beyond. They made wonderful memories together—always smiling, joking and enjoying an adventurous life.
May Annette’s spirit soar with the angels in God’s Heavenly Kingdom. Memory Eternal!

What a tribute to a lady who was beautiful inside and on the outside. And talk about role model!! I’m not sure if I ever knew all these things about Annette but I do know that our family spoke about her with great respect for her accomplishments. How she did all this and raised a wonderful family is certainly to be admired. I’m glad to know that she continued a happy and productive life in Florida and I am especially glad to have had her in my life. My memories are being together with all our loving family on 48th st. RIP Annette

Annette was one of the most wonderful friends anyone could ever have asked for. Annette lived across the street from me for many years and we became much more than neighbors ,we were friends and would do anything for each other. I have many fond memories of being with the Annetteand Shelly over the years during hurricanes, going out to fabulous restaurants which they both loved to do, sharing many laughs.
She raised a beautiful family mostly on her own , she was very proud, deservedly so. Rest in peace my friend.
