“Billy” William James Thomas III was born into this world on April 28,1962 and departed on December 22,2022. He passed away peacefully with family and his beloved dog the “perfect” Sadie May by his side. Billy was an amazing husband, father, Pepaw, and great Pepaw! He would do anything for anyone he considered his family. He was an honorable, loving, loyal, supportive, hardworking, and a man of his word! He sure was one of a kind! Billy served in the US Army from 1979-1985. In 1988, he joined the Local 1010 DC 78 painters union, where he contributed so much to the industry. He obtained all certifications and education available to him. He was promoted throughout the years; including being a foreman at many of the jobs and eventually passed his knowledge on too many others when he became an FFTI Training Coordinator. After 30 loyal years, he retired. Throughout his years, he enjoyed many things, including retirement, but one thing that was always in his blood was his love for motorcycles. He was a die-hard Harley Davidson enthusiast! His father who was predeceased was William James Thomas JR. He was the third generation of William James Thomas’. He continued this tradition when he named his son the fourth generation! He is survived by his wife, LeeAnn Sclafani. He leaves behind his children; Deborah (James) Duncan, Erica (Geoffrey) Roblee, and William “James” Thomas IV. Also, his bonus children; Jacob and Jordan Sanders; and Heather (Chris) and Michael (Rose) Strange. Grandchildren; Donovon, Emalee, and Isobelle Duncan; Eve’Lynn and Maria Holmes; Josephine Sanders; Quinn Strange; and is expecting to welcome another very soon. One grandchild predeceased Rayleen Thomas.
