On Friday morning October 28th, 2022 Robert “Bob” Gelsimino a beloved husband and father passed away, at the age of 78. He passed while bravely fighting leukemia at Moffitt Cancer Center.
As a painting contractor he moved from Dunkirk, NY in 1980 to Vero Beach, FL. He spent 40 years painting many of the buildings in Vero such as Vero Towers, schools, Piper Airport, and Ocean Gate Condominiums just to name a few. As a member of the Italian American Civic Association, he was known as “Bobby G”. He was the president of the IACA five times and spent countless hours bettering his community through the organization. He achieved his lifelong dream of traveling to Italy and experiencing his heritage enjoying food and sites. In his active days he played golf many weekends and traveled to different courses to improve his game. He and his son, Bo enjoyed sports together watching innumerable local football, basketball and baseball games. Bob served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a great patriot.
Bob will be remembered for his great smile and witty sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry. His daughter Jaisree and son-in-law Danny McCormick. His son Bo Gelsimino, and two grandchildren Nolen and Ian McCormick. His brothers Frank and Jim Gelsimino, Kenny Walker and his sister Kathy Krebs. Bob is preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Gelsimino and sister Paula McIntrye.
Bob fought leukemia the last two years of his life. Through the journey he received many bags of blood and platelets. In honor of Bob please consider donating blood or donating to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation.

I met Bob when we were 12 years old we became great friends on one of his trips up north we played golf together the only time I ever beat him he said don’t let it happen again lol he was a fierce competitor l loved him like a brother rip till we meet again

As a young man I always admired Bob. He had a great personality and was a friendly guy. He was always spunky and full of life.
