I cannot believe he’s gone A man so full of life, so full of energy! A week and 1/2 ago he was playing golf with Mark. The week before that, riding his bike and playing pickle ball. Not too long ago, even playing tennis in his mid 80s! He took care of my mom, myself, my younger sister and his younger sister for years. He was not your typical macho Italian man. He was hard-working at his own business and also in our home. My mom worked nights, so he helped cook and clean. He never missed one of my softball, basketball, volleyball games or tennis matches. He was my unofficial tennis coach and biggest cheerleader. He went to all of my sister’s concerts, as she was the singer in the family, given a beautiful voice by God, and he taught her his hair styling craft. He was proud of us both, with our very different unique talents.
He was kind and sincere, loving and caring, gracious and unselfish. He was compassionate about living life to the fullest. He was so dedicated to his family and friends and valued his time with each and every one he loved. He was the most amazing husband, father, pop pop, brother and uncle. He was an incredible role model and I have been told he was a hero to my cousin, as he was mine as well! He still is my hero! He was an integral part of our youngest son becoming such an incredible man! Even in the end he thought of others……especially his wife and daughters.
He didn’t want to prolong us watching him suffer. After pulling an all nighter holding his hand by his hospice bedside, (at Treasure Coast Hospice House where he got wonderful care), he did not want to me to lose another night’s sleep. He knew I would make sure I was awake to watch him take his last breath. He held on to life until my mom and sister got to see him out of the hospital and in a comfortable room, and to hear his grandson’s voice one last time. We made sure he knew how important he was to us and what a great life he gave us. He absolutely knew how much we loved, cared for and adored him! God blessed us with each other, my mom, my sister and our beloved daddy. I know he entered into Heaven with Jesus by his side, and many friends and family members waiting to welcome him. His soul is free from his failing physical body. I am sure his fun-loving spirit is being enjoyed again by many of those who have been waiting for him. He knows that we plan to join him when it’s our time. But until then, as Heaven’s newest angel, he will be watching over us and keeping us safe.
My daddy may be gone from this world, and we will miss him like crazy, as I already do, but his love will always be felt in my heart and he will always be on my mind, where the wonderful memories we made together remain. He gave so much of himself to us, and it was perfect! His presence was one of the best things in my life (as well as my mother’s, they made a great team!)……he will be missed everyday!
There is so much more to my dad in which I want to brag about, our motorcycle rides to school, him teaching me how to drive a stick-shift, his corvettes, his handsome looks, his good-nature, positive attitude, the way people felt happy being around my father, and so much more…….but I am exhausted and need to close my eyes, where I hope to be visited by Heaven’s newest and extremely special angel . I love you daddy! Thank you for EVERYTHING! You gave your all, and then some ❤️❤️

I will always remember our trip to the Columbus Zoo. When your Dad saw the water park next to the zoo, his eyes lit up. He asked if we were going to the water park…he was probably 70 but had the enthusiasm and then disappointment of his 7 year old self when he found out that the water park was not included in a trip to the zoo. That was my little first hand experience with your Dad. Every story Chris shared with me about him was made more vivid by that one little look at his ability to enjoy life and spread that joy!!!! I look forward to seeing him again and for eternity this time!! Love and hugs to all of you!!!

Uncle Pat was a small man with a big life who never quit! May we all be boating, biking, camping, and smacking tennis balls at 87 years old.

Rest easy Uncle Pat. Your time here was well spent and impacted many lives including mine. I cannot remember ever seeing you in a bad mood and you always had a quick smile. I am glad we never had that wrestling match you always challenged me to. I don’t know if I would have survived . Say hi to my father while you two are eating meatballs and manicotti. Tell him I love him and miss him as I will you.

Dear Uncle Pat – You were and are a gem! Thank you for helping me climb the oak tree in my backyard for the first time when I was little. Thank you for teaching me that a ski trip is best with a bowl of chili and a beer on the mountain (and to quit early afternoon when you are getting tired and are still healthy….and to sample the local pizza on the way home). Thanks for the gifts of great cousins and a your home as a destination to ride my new bicycle to in 7th grade. Thank you for choosing my “Aunt Dan’ and making a wonderful life with her. Holidays at your home were the best with soup to nuts at meals and Christmas presents by the fireplace. Your harem misses you and I know you miss them too. Thanks for teaching me life is for living and to enjoy the time I have since life can be short. You were the best uncle and you are missed. Please give my dad a hug from me. Love, Joey
