Roger J. Willson passed peacefully away on December 2, 2021,in the comfort of his home in Port St. Lucie, Florida surrounded by family. He was born in 1936, son of John H and Frances(Keller) Willson, grew up in Spring Valley, NY and graduated from Spring Valley High
School in 1954.
He enjoyed everything about sports, playing or watching. While in school he worked in Kaplan’s Men’s Clothing store from which he always continued his stylish appearance.
After graduation he became sales manager for Manly Chevrolet in Nyack, NY, later owning Nyack Buick and GMC Trucks for many years. During this time, he and his wife of 64 years Barbara (Parsells) Willson built and operated Spook Rock Farm Riding Academy (1970-1979) in Monsey, NY which involved the entire family.
In 1979, the Willsons relocated to Florida, where they enjoyed taking family and friends in their boat, sightseeing and relaxing out on the Intracoastal, and playing tennis. In 1981, Roger joined Morse Chevrolet in Lauderhill, Fl. as an automobile diagnostic specialist.(1981-1998). After retiring from there, he and Barbara co-owned Era Sand & Shore Real Estate in Delray Beach, FL. He continued to be part of the business world for many years.
He truly enjoyed life, saw the good in everyone and always treasured his beautiful family. He was blessed with 3 wonderful children,
8 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Parsells), son, Roger (Georgette), daughters Alison and Tiffany, sister Joan (Thomas) Dunnigan.
In view of the critical nature of the Pandemic and Variants, it has been decided to forgo a funeral
assembly and celebrate Roger’s family legacy privately.
