Michael J. Jones, 42 years young, of Canyon, TX, passed away on September 11, 2021.
He was born, and raised, in New Orleans, LA. He had been a resident of Canyon, TX for five years.
In the latter part of his career path, Michael had a passion for helping families through his work in final expense. Michael was a compassionate mentor in his work and personal life. Michael enjoyed the Canyon community; he was encouraging of his wife’s growth in her career and his children’s success in school. Michael had started writing a memoir and wanted to dedicate it to his wife and children. Michael had a strong faith in God that was captivating to those that knew him. Michael graduated from De La Salle High School, New Orleans. Michael graduated from University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX with a bachelor’s degree in child psychology, and he played college soccer during his time at the university. Michael met his wife, Adriana, while residing in San Antonio in 2009. Michael was a proud father to their three lovely children and a doting husband to, as he would say, ‘the love of my life, Adriana.’ Michael’s favorite vacation spot was going to the mountains with is wife and children in the summertime. Michael enjoyed traveling and driving, a true road warrior. Michael gave his one hundred percent energy to everything he cared about – he was determined and loved fiercely. Although Michael faced limitations and challenges in the latter part of his life due to health adversities, he did not deter from his faith and hopeful outlook. Michael’s family enjoyed laughing to his playful sense of humor. He had an invigorating personality that will not be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Beatriz Adriana Campos; daughters, Aliana and Ariela Campos-Jones; son, Ambrose Campos-Jones; sister, Rose (David Watsky) Jones; niece, Zola Watsky; nephew, Jakob Watsky; paternal aunt, Margaret Joly; maternal aunt, Kathleen Levata; maternal cousin, Sean (Tina) Reif; mother-in-law, Beatrice Perez; father-in-law, Victor Campos; sister-in-law, Cynthia Campos; niece, Victoria Cuellar; nephew, Bryan Flores; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (John) Flynn and niece, Penelope Flynn.
He was predeceased by his parents, Helena ‘Helen’ and Joseph ‘Joe’ Jones; brother, William ‘Billy’ Jones; paternal cousin, Robert ‘Robbie’ Schmolke and uncle, Lucien Joly.
A private Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.

Mike Jones was a good man. A Spiritual man. He was inspirational to me in so many ways! His faith came boldly and loudly!
He had a keen sense of life and his family.

It was a true blessing to meet and know Mike. His life was filled with tremendous spirit and love for his fellow man. His intelligence, quick wit and humility made him a joy to be around and we are all richer for knowing Mike. God Bless his family and prayers for their comfort and peace.

I am so sorry for your loss, Adriana. From the moment I spoke to Michael on the phone for the first time, it was like he and I had known each other for a long time. He was so amicable and easy to talk to. I will miss him very much but I know we will see him again in glory! May he rest in peace in the arms of our Savior. Amen.
