Richard L. Gairdo, 71, of Fort Pierce, FL fell asleep in death on Sunday, 11/3/2019 after a long battle with cancer.

Richard is survived by his loving wife and beloved children and grandchildren and brother, as well as many extended family members.

Richard was dearly loved by his family and friends. He lived a full and rich life. He was a good provider to his family, always ensuring they were well-cared for.

My beloved family, we were brought together by this wonderful man, Richard Gairdo. He left, blessing us with unforgettable memories that we’ll embrace for the rest of our lives.

I loved my father dearly. I’ll never forget the last conversation I had with him. Of course it was kind, comforting advice. He told me, “Mary Ann, people say things they don’t mean all the time and you have to remember that in life.” I couldn’t of asked for a better imprint then what he told me that day. My Dad loved his family as much as we loved him.

I send Lorena, Illeany, Lori, & Richie all my love. May Dad rest peacefully, he’s in all of our hearts.

Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do.
