Rosemary Patricia Lillie, 77, of Sebastian, Florida passed gently to Heaven June 23, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, Vero Beach, Florida.
Born March 15, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth & William O’Connor. Elizabeth, an Irish immigrant, was proudly recorded on the American Immigrant Wall of Honor at Ellis Island.
Rosemary married her beloved husband, Donald (Don) Lillie, on September 10, 1966. They resided in New York and California, making Florida their final home. Together they traveled the world, often with their dearest friends, and remained a devoted couple until Don’s death in 2016.
Rosemary, recognized for her cleverness and wit, enjoyed reading and games, especially crossword puzzles. With a keen eye for a good deal, she spent many weekends scouting garage sales and thrift shops.
Above all else she treasured her family. She was a constant loving presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Each will forever remember her immense care and selfless support.
She was a bright light in the lives of extended family and countless friends. Her beautiful, young soul, touched everyone who knew her and her humor will be so greatly missed.
Rosemary is survived by her son, Donald (Donny) Lillie, and his wife Jodee Holland Lillie; her daughter, Allison Stewart, and her husband Rich Stewart; former daughter-in-law Brandy Varone, and her husband Patrick Varone; grandchildren Kayla Lillie, Haley Stewart, Ashton Lillie, and step grandchildren Mason & Hadlee Caskey.
She is also survived by her brother Bill O’Connor, and his wife Pat O’Connor; cousin Ann O’Neil Boyle; son-in-law’s mother Georgette Mittasch; and dearest friends Susan Lowe & family, Susan Cogswell, Barbara Mader, Joanne, Ginger, and Linda Bogdansky Pick.
A Celebration of Life is tentatively scheduled for 5:00 P.M., July 24, 2021 at one of Rosemary’s favorite restaurants, Aunt Louise’s Pizzeria in Sebastian.

Rosemary had a heart of gold. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. My condolences to the family. Love Andrea
Do not stand
By my grave, and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleep—
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning’s hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand
By my grave, and cry—
I am not there,
I did not die.

Rosemary and I were very close friends for 43 years. The Lillies and the Lowes were like family. We had gone through the good times and the bad times together. I will never forget her or Don. They were special to me.
