Robert A. Ebeling , age 70, of Vero Beach , passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2021. Robert was born in Augusta, Maine, the son of the late Frederick and Doris Ebeling. While in his youth, having moved to Turners Falls, Massachusetts, Robert enjoyed his hobby of maintaining several aquariums and selling tropical fish. While living in Sudbury, Massachusetts, he graduated from Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School. Robert became a very proficient licensed ham radio operator, communicating with other operators within the United States and in other countries. For many years, he was employed by the Baystate Floral Company in Waltham, Massachusetts in marketing and sales, advancing to top rank as a salesman in the company. Robert became a boating enthusiast joining the Watertown Yacht Club where he served a term as commodore. He enjoyed being on the ocean traveling in his boat to many New England waters. Robert chose to live on his boat on a slip at Constitution Marina in Boston. In 2000, Robert piloted his boat from Boston to Vero Beach, Florida, to care for his father after his mother passed away. Robert became a true Floridian enjoying the sea and the sun and became a permanent resident of Vero Beach. He was employed by West Marine in Vero until the time of his retirement. Over many years, Robert enjoyed working on his boats and became a skilled Captain and engine mechanic, always happy and proud to take family members and friends out to sea for leisurely cruises and fishing.
Robert is survived by Elizabeth Daley, his loving friend and partner of many years. He is also survived by his sister Carol Molongoski of Hanson, Massachusetts and husband Theodore, his brother Frederick Ebeling of Greenfield, Massachusetts and wife Joan, and several nieces,
nephews, and cousins. Interment will be private. Robert’s memory will be forever cherished by his family and friends. A donation in his memory may be made to one’s charity of choice.

I lived on a boat with my wife and daughter and Bob was our neighbor and dear friend. He and Wendy were great friends to us and we had a few good adventures together. Going up the Charles River to the Esplanade to see The Band, Cruising around Cape Ann, Dinner and a movie on the Ebeling yacht, the Escapade 2. Getting us deals on flowers for events. We missed him after he moved to Florida. And the famous quote: “It’ill just take five minutes!” love to all of the family and friends

Rob,
Wonderful memories of our visits in Vero. These last few years you met the physical challenges as best you could with Liz by your side. You were devoted to Liz and did everything together.
Love you always.
