John Edward Jenkins, age 90 of Lynn MA and later of Salem NH, died on March 8th peacefully, after courageously battling cancer, while residing in Sebastian Florida. He is the youngest son of the late Lilla May (Cooper) of Newburyport MA and of the late John Jenkins Sr. of Halifax Nova Scotia. Known as “Eddie” to family and friends, he attended Lynn Classical High School and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1952. During his career, he was a district and regional sales manager for BF Goodrich and Continental Tire, as well as an employee of Wal-Mart during his retirement years.
His pastimes consisted of enjoying college and professional football, while also coaching baseball for two of his sons in their youth. He was the Father of five children all of whom he leaves behind, Linda Jenkins-Todt of Sebastian FL, James Jenkins and Wife Diana of Lady Lake FL, Donna Jenkins-Cocozza of Vero Beach FL, Richard Jenkins of Park City UT and Scott Jenkins and Wife Lisa, of Salem NH. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Christopher, Shaun, John, Krystyna and Emily, along with 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
“Eddie” is pre-deceased by his friend and wife of 49 years, Elinor (Grant) Jenkins, along with three siblings, Thomas, Earl and Richard and one grandson, Robert Griffin Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking you consider donating to a veterans charity of your choice in his name.

Dad .. you are so missed.. the house is so quiet..Louie sleeps in your chair..I walk around and feel the memories.. Its all that’s left..We grieve while you dance with Ma.. Good Bless you both now.
