Over 47 years there were so many experiences we shared.
Even with the medical issues you battled, your abrupt passing was devastating. Thankfully you didn’t have to suffer. We are blessed with two great sons and daughter-in-law. With their help and support and the love from our granddaughters we will try to continue to make you proud of us. You have left a big hole in my life. I love you, miss you, and wish I could bring you back.

Phil was a wonderful cousin that I always enjoyed being around when we were younger. A man to be proud of. I am so sorry!

This news is heartbreaking to me personally. Their was never a bad time to confide in phill He brought explanation to my issues. Im going to miss him.

Phil was a teenage friend of mine and it was always wonderful to see him over the years thru SSHS events. I have such nice memories of him as a person, even as a young person, he was kind and good! I think that is the finest tribute to a life well lived! His life was a blessing.

I love you so much. Wish I got one more hug. My heart is so broke and wish there was something that could fix it!! I guess it will take time. I couldn’t be more blessed than to be a part of this family, wish we had a little more time. We will keep you alive through memories and you will never be forgotten!! Love you and miss you so much already.

I am still in shock hearing about Phil. During my childhood he was like a brother to me as he took Vickie and I on many adventures to the movies, Stone Mountain and so much more. He loved to tease, but was/has always been so kind to me.

I knew Phil from Elementary through SSHS, including youth group MYF AT sandy Springs United Methodist church. He was a sweet and kind child and teen, and we talked for a little while at our 20th reunion, where he was then a kind man. I have one funny memory of him in 6th grade in Mrs. Crawford’s class. Mike Calhoun sat behind me singing Eight Days a Week constantly, and he Nd Phil would tell me to duck and spit spitballs through the tube of an ink pen. I was so hoping to have a 50th and see him again. Blessings and prayers for comfort and sweet for Sharon and all of his family.❤️

Phil lived life to the Fullest! A Risk Taker, a true Entrepreneur & a Horse Trader! He Truly Loved his Family especially his wife Sharon who was his Rock! As his older brother, I watched him over the years develop into a man that always had a positive outlook in spite of any challenges he faced. He Loved The Lord & He demonstrated that in so many ways to so many people with his kindness & concern for others. Sara and I will miss him very much; but we know he is in Heaven and we look forward to seeing him again when The Lord calls us Home.

I grew up with Phil from kindergarten through SSHS. He was a great friend way back then. I can remember his family. My mom never worried when I told her that I was going to Phil”s house to play even though it was about a half mile away. Those were the days. We were always at church together. Even though we went separate ways after high school, I enjoyed seeing the tribute to Phil. The pictures oozed with love. You will be missed by your family. May God provide them with strength and comfort.

I met Phil just over 29 years ago when I was about to marry his sister. Over those years, he has been a friend, a good listener, he has given some sage advice, he always had a story to share, and he has done some pretty incredible things. Most of all, he has been everything to his wife, sons, daughter-in-law, and grand children, and for that he has been admired by them, and by his siblings and family members.

One thing that I will never forget was when Phil flew from Atlanta to upstate New York to be at Jason and Amanda’s wedding, still recovering from bypass surgery, and then danced at their wedding! It was amazing to watch him. He was not going to miss that for the world.

The best thing to remember about Phil was that he was real “Family Man” and his family loved him for it. I will miss him.

Will always remember his smile and always free spirit. Am very lucky to get to know him thru church an sshs and our brothers which all grew up together. He was a great friend to me. God bless him and his family. He will be missed

I first met Phil in the 6th grade. I adored him – what a funny guy and nice as could be. He lived on the same street as me and in elementary school we sometimes walked home together. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I knew Phil from the 6th grade through high school. Always nice, funny – just a great guy. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Sharon and family, we are so very sorry for the loss of such an amazing member of the family. When I first married into the family 15 years ago, Phil was one of the first to welcome me with open arms and an open heart – as well as with a wicked sense of humor, which I more than appreciated! He made me feel welcomed and comfortable. He was such an amazing and gentle man, and I will always remember him as such. He reminded me in so many ways of my own father – charming, and had never met a stranger. You could see his love for Sharon and his boys, and later Amanda and the girls just beaming out of him. He was so proud of his family. I know the grief is immense and feels never ending right now. I pray for peace to fill your hearts and good memories to flood your minds. Hi Sharon, I know we already spoke but Carolyn and I wanted to express how much we will miss talking to Phil. Before seeing his picture I had no idea what he looked like since we only ever spoke on the phone. He will forever remain in our hearts as well as you will. Call anytime.

Very sorry to hear about Phil’s passing from the SSHS Facebook site…very sad…lost contact with each other after high school, but have very fond memories with him at both Hammond & SSHS…my deepest condolences to all of his family!
