Carl Nunzio Chiarolanzio

January 03, 1937 ~ December 30, 2020

Carl N. Chiarolanzio, son of Carl F. and Elsie (Barrett) Chiarolanzio, passed away December 30th 2020, of COVID-19 Pneumonia at St Lucie Medical Center, Port St Lucie, FL.  He was born on January 3rd, 1937 and lived much of his life in Madison, NJ, where he attended both Bayley Ellard HS and Madison HS. He lettered in three sports and made many lifelong friends. He was a member of St Vincent Martyr Catholic Church in Madison for much of his life and was a faithful Catholic.

Carlie enjoyed all sports and coached many of his sons’ sports teams.  He was also a fixture at Madison HS Football games and Wrestling matches.  After playing Football, Baseball and Basketball, Golf became his next passion.  Breaking 80 was a big moment. He then enjoyed cheering on the Giants and Appalachian State, as well as many other teams from his recliner.

He had an entrepreneurial and adventurous spirit and started two successful businesses in Madison: The Wishing Well Restaurant and along with his Brother, Joe, C&J’s Deli.  He then decided to head south to Florida where he started a successful landscape business.  After that came a move to Boone, NC where he self-studied, and earned his plumbing license.  A couple of successful drain and plumbing business followed.  Although successful in business, he enjoyed life to the fullest and was always fun loving and a joker.

Since living back in Port St Lucie he was a “Handyman” to all in his La Buona Vita Community.  Most importantly he could be depended on to be the first to offer a helping hand to his family, friends, church, and neighbors.  He always offered it with a gracious heart and a loving spirit.

He is survived by his Wife of 65 years, Jacqueline (Jacky) Renz Chiarolanzio. He is also survived by his Brother, Joseph Chiarolanzio (Antoinette, deceased) and his Sister, Carol Kitchell (Joseph), Sister-in-law, Christine O’Connell and 5 children: Diana (Jim) Olmstead of Austin TX, Kathryn Chiarolanzio (Jerry Smith) of Stoneville, NC, Richard (Katherine) of Virginia, Carl III (Dawn) of Deep Gap, NC, Christine (Ross) Picillo, Simpsonville, SC. He was also a Grandfather to 18 and Great Grandfather to 22 and had many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by Daughter, Deborah Chiera, Grandson, Dominick Chiarolanzio, and Mother-in-law Ann Renz.

Carl was a dedicated son, faithful husband, and loving Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.  His sudden passing has been very difficult, but he will be remembered for all the good he did and joy he spread as well as the ever-present twinkle in his eye.

Donation in memory of Carl can be made to St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie, FL or to Catholic Charities.

Carl was a beloved friend of my mom and dad who passed in 2017. He then was such a help to me when I moved to La Buona Vita. Always had a smile and greeting whenever you’d see him. You are greatly missed. I’m sure Jesus greeted you with “Well done good and faithful servant”.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
