Elizabeth “Betsy” Morgan of Baltimore, Maryland and Vero Beach, Florida, died of natural causes after a short illness in Vero Beach. Born and raised in the Roland Park neighborhood of Baltimore, Mrs. Morgan was 74.

Betsy was an avid golfer and bridge player known for her love of both games. In 1978 she was married to John Marshall Morgan, and the couple lived on Gibson Island until his death in 2003. Subsequently, Betsy was married to George Stevens of Gloucester, Massachusetts, and Vero Beach. Mr. Stevens died in 2015.

Over the years, Mrs. Morgan was actively engaged in fundraising for a variety of institutions including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Roland Park Country School. She was a member of The Elkridge Club in Baltimore, and of the Riomar Club in Vero Beach. She attended Roland Park Country School and was a graduate of The Gunston School in Centerville, Maryland.

Betsy is survived by a sister, Margaret H. Hendrick of Spring Island, South Carolina and a brother, W. Bruce McPherson of Annapolis and four nieces and nephews, William T. McPherson of Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Bruce Miller of Boston, Massachusetts, Amy McPherson of Severna Park, Maryland and Ann H. Kaye of Washington, D.C. and six great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that donations be made in Betsy’s honor to Roland Park Country School, Baltimore, Maryland.

So sorry to learn of Betsy’s death. She was always glad to see friends and her warm smile was welcoming to all.

How sad to lose Betsy- we were looking forward to her return to Baltimore on June 1. Betsy, Alex and I had a lot of fun together going out for lunch and dinner and visiting in Vero. Betsy was always such fun to be with and interesting to talk to. She loved people-old friends and new. We will really miss her.
