Best man I ever met. A true privilege to be his son. Dad was loved by everybody, yes everybody. Amazing sense of humor and never judgmental he will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. Dad and his twin brother John left high school at 17 to defend this great nation, two great members of the greatest generation. They don’t make men like this anymore and the world is worse for it. Seven years of courtship and sixty six years happily married to mom. He was tired and fought every minute of every day for years so mom wouldn’t have to be alone. Just a warrior right to the end. I will miss him every second of every day for the rest of my life. I love you dad – please say hi to uncle John for me, I’m sure he’s happy to see you – are you guys sharing a bed again? Ta da da da da- Your loving son John

Dear Klett Family
I’m very sorry to hear of the lose of your Father. Johns always spoke so highly of both of his parents and clarified that the key to a long healthy life lyes at the bottom of a stiff martini.
Thank you so much John Klett for your service and the better life you helped create and defend for all the families that live in this wonderful country.
Knowing John Jr I’m sure Mr Klett was the life of any party and had the wit to boot. I’m sure he will be missed greatly by your Family and his friends. My prayers are with you and your Father.
Much Love

To all the Klett family. So privileged to know this great man who gave me some of the happiest childhood memories by sharing his home and family. I remember his garden on the side of the house which he loved and The time when he and your mom built the garage. They had just smoothed the cement and we all went out and played tag on it leaving footprints so it had to be re- done. Boy was your mom mad and boy did we all get in trouble but your dad never said anything. I practically lived at your house growing up and your parents were the best. He was always so funny. He will always be missed. I am so sorry for your loss especially at this time.

Uncle Marty may have been a relative but in reality he was a best friend. We had a standing Friday night pizza night followed by sit around and gabbing for hours. When he retired an moved to Florida we were at a loss of what to do with our Friday nights. Then when we retired where did we go? Yep you guessed it, Florida! The lives that Uncle Marty touched over his very long life can not be counted. We were so blessed to have him in ours.

Marty Klett: Uncle, Godfather, Counselor, Ally, Family Man
He was truly: THE MAN! THE MYTH! THE LEGEND!!!
To know him was to, indeed, love him. He was a howling, side-splitting humorist,
arm chair philosopher, dedicated patriot, sincere realist, and absolutely “Good Guy”.
Dear Uncle, Thanks for your love. How blessed I am to have shared with you.
I ache at your loss but know you are whole again. Rest in Peace.
Love always, Your “FAVORITE” niece, Joan !!!

So sorry to hear of the passing of my Uncle Marty. I have such fond memories of visiting him and Aunt Jean in New Hyde Park as a kid. Playing croquet in their back yard, enjoying his sense of humor and always having such a great time. Later in life, I never passed up the chance to visit him if Florida, always around 3PM so we could talk, laugh and have a gin cocktail together. His living till 93 has been a blessing to us all. He will always live on in my heart. Rest In Peace.

In honor of Dad’s birthday, April 18, 2020.
Dad was a remarkable, loving man. You knew you were okay in his book if he called you “Ace”.
From living in New Hyde Park, vacations at Stop-A-While in New Hampshire and Dad and Mom visiting me in Brockport and with my family in Houston, Indianapolis, Carmel and Atlantic Beach, there are many great memories. They travelled a good part of the USA to spend time with me and my family! We enjoyed time together, meals and Euchre games late into the night with much laughter and jokes.
He taught me many outstanding values. A some examples are: ” Don’t buy anything you can’t pay for in cash right now” and “Save money for your future”. I never came around to drinking martinis the way he liked but he was always quick to tell me to “Have a sissy drink for him”. He knew I liked cosmopolitans! Dad loved poker games, his garden in NHP, golf and having fun with his family and friends. We used to love reading and sharing books. We always did book reviews with each other and he always recalled details better than I could.
Dad, as all of us, was proud of his service to our country, serving in the Navy during WWII on a Destroyer Escort. I loved hearing all the Navy stories he shared later in life.
Most of all, Dad and Mom have been a prime example of commitment and honoring each other in along marriage.
I have been honored to have dad as my father and a Grandfather to my children.
Dad will always live in my heart, he is truly a part of me.

Dear Mrs. Klett, Alice, Denise, John, and families – Our dad’s birthday was April 25, but Dad passed in 1991. My sister Susan and I were recalling all of his old friends and of course, Marty’s name was right up there. We were so sad to hear of his passing but will never forget all of the fun times we had together in New Hampshire. I can picture him standing on the dock at Newfound Lake (skinny!!) . We all learned to water ski there! I know Marty and Dad are up there enjoying a beer together. I hope that the wonderful memories you have will help your hearts to heal. Love, Peggy, Vinnie, John, Gerard, Susan, and Isabelle White (Oceanside)
