Chuck Stanley, 80, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away peacefully with his loving wife Patricia and son Charles at his side. Chuck was born in Melbourne, Florida on August 18, 1944 to William “Bill” Charles & Olivia “Ray” (Armstrong) Stanley Sr.
He skipped his last day of school at Hialeah High to apply for a position at Western Electric/AT&T installing and maintaining the equipment in the telephone offices until his retirement. During the Cuban Missile Crisis Chuck was transferred to Boca Chica naval Air Station in Key West, Florida where he was granted security clearance so as to interact and communicate with top military officials.
Chuck was a private pilot. He enjoyed reading, fishing, building and flying model airplanes and loved fast cars. In July of 2019 Chuck and Charles drove his Shelby GT 500 to Colorado Springs to the top of Pikes Peak
He was a member of the Florida Modelers Association, National Free Flight Society and National Rifle Association.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 42 years Patricia, son Charles, grandson Giovanni, sister Janet Dowd, nieces Kimberly (Joe) O’Brien and their children Emily, Hailey and Hudson, Carolyn (Adam) Bonaventura and their children Andrew, Katelyn and Eric, Kathryn Leigh and her son Nathan, brothers-in-law Brian (Elizabeth) Cyers and their children Cody and Rachel, Mark (Linda) and their children Michael, Lulu, and Josie, cousins residing in Alabama, Colorado and Pennsylvania as well as the family cats Taffy, Tippy, Mercury, Emma and Maverick who will miss laying on his lap.
Chuck was an easy-going, good-natured person who will be missed greatly by his family, friends and neighbors. A new star shines brightly in the heavenly sky.

So glad we were able to visit with Chuck and Charles and the Shelby! I’ll miss just knowing he was down there soaking up Florida sunshine and ready for a chat. Love and prayers to all. Glo, Mary, Eric and Seamus and Katie.

Chuck was a sweet young man growing up. I remember the day he bought the corvair spider. He was in love with it. I know you will miss Chuck, loved ones are hard to turn loose..
