Theodore “Ted” Brumbaugh or better known as “Boomer”, passed away on Monday, February 10,2025, at the age of 72. Ted was born in Lansing, Michigan on July 22,1952 to his parents, Ellis and Betty (Kennedy) Brumbaugh.
Ted met the love of his life and future beloved wife, Janean Kirchmeier, while at Mason High School. They have been married 54 years and had two children together, Nicole and Kirk Brumbaugh. Together they also raised their granddaughter, Jordyn Brumbaugh.
Ted spent time in the Army National Guard out of high school. He then became an Iron Worker, working for Local 25 for the next 30 years.
He was a hardworking man and would do anything to support his family. Ted retired at the young age of 54 and was able to enjoy his retirement in Jensen Beach, Florida, during the winters. He loved happy hour which included taking a dip at the hot tub and riding around on his golf cart visiting friends with his cocktail. His favorite hobbies were golfing, hunting, fishing and watching the Detroit Lions or Detroit Tigers play. He was a big fan of both teams.
This is a tremendous loss, and his family will miss him dearly. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Betty Brumbaugh; his in-laws, George and Patricia Kirchmeier; sister, Carol Nequette; sister-in-law Mary Kirchmeier; brothers-in-law, Patrick Kirchmeier, Bob Mollsen and Tom Nequette.
He is survived by his wife, Janean; his children, Nicole, Kirk (Susan) and Jordyn (Chris); his siblings, Butch (Marilyn) Brumbaugh and Debbie Mollsen; his grandchildren, Alyssa (Allen), Cecilia, Jacob, Kirk Jr and Jazzy; and great-grandchildren, Laylah, Aaliyah, CJ, Freya and Elijah. Also surviving is his sidekick and grand-dog, Chino Bino; and tons of family and friends.
He was loved by so many. Thank you all for being a part of his life and helping us through this difficult time.
A Memorial will be held at a later date in Lansing, Michigan.

Sorry to hear of your loss and want to express our sympathy to all of Ted’s family. He was a cousin whom we did not see a lot but I can remember the last time he was to Pa. He and Butch were to Pa. with Uncle Ellis the boys wanted to the trip again, haha. Alan Brumbaugh and his wife had a picnic and social evening together while they were here. I have couple pictures of everyone there and Ted was well and healthy at that time. So sorry be thinking of you all.

My condolences to his family. I babysat him and his brother Butch when I was a teenager. His wings were ready, but your hearts were not. I hope you can find comfort in the love that surrounds you during this difficult time.

From the Douglas Steel Family,
Boomer was a huge part of our company for so many years. He taught so many people how to work hard and take pride in their work. Having got to work with him personally was a great experience. He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
