Nancy Norman

December 17, 1942 ~ December 04, 2024

Nancy Norman (nee Klosterman) of Vero Beach, Florida ended her five-year battle with Multiple Myeloma on December 4, 2024 at the age of 82.

Nancy was from the small town of Burkettsville, Ohio and was raised by Elmer and Irene Klosterman who operated several grain elevators.  She has a younger sister, Donna Eisenman, who also resides in Vero Beach.  Nancy met her husband of 60 years, Thomas Norman, while attending the University of Dayton, in Dayton, Ohio.  She started as a schoolteacher in New Jersey and transitioned to raising her children, Chris Norman, Karen Spiritoso, Lisa Norman- Jones and Nicole Epstein until resuming her teaching career in special education at Cherokee High School in Marlton, New Jersey.  Nancy spent much of her adult life in Medford, New Jersey.

Nancy was an excellent cook, and enjoyed traveling and playing golf.  She also enjoyed spending time with family, including her 12 grandchildren, all of whom took the time to travel to Florida two weeks before she passed, to express their appreciation for being a super grandma!  She will be missed by many.

One of her most proud accomplishments was raising her children to not compete for affection or praise.  A testament to her legacy is that the Norman family tree has a solid foundation with all the members supporting each other and getting along terrifically to this day.

Nancy enjoyed life and endured five years of cancer treatment and full-time dialysis, fighting to the end.  She did not want to miss out and always kept an optimistic view to stay here on earth as long as she could.  Despite the hardships of her condition, she always preferred the focus of discussion on how the family member or friend was doing, not her suffering. That says it all.

From the Norman family, thank you Mom and Grandma!

Our hearts are saddened to read of my first cousin’s recent passing. Although Nancy was 9 years older than me, I have many fond memories of her while growing up. Lots of fun at family gatherings in Burkettsville, Coldwater, Celina, Montezuma, St. Mary’s and Greenville. Will always remember Nancy as my beautiful, fun loving and happy cousin who possessed an awesome smile just like her father, Elmer. We are keeping Tom, Nancy, Donna and families in our daily prayers. Love you all❣️

I met your mom several times, when she lived in Medford and when she and your dad would visit you on Hillside lane. She was always warm and friendly. I know how proud she was of all of you, and how much she loved you all. May the memories of your mom’s spirit live on in the laughter and happiness you all share. You are in my thoughts and prayers Karen.

I am so sorry for your loss but I am certain that she left this world knowing how very loved she was. You all gave so much time, care and love to her throughout her fight with multiple myeloma that she must have felt truly blessed. She has left quite a legacy because you are collectively one of the best families that I have ever known! Rest in Peace Nancy, no one deserves it more than you!

My love to you all,

Lisa

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
