Stephen E. Mandell, 67, of Vero Beach, passed away on November 6, 2024. Stephen was born September 20, 1957 to Stephen A. and Penelope Mandell. He was a graduate of Bayport Blue Point High School (1975) and Bates College (1979). A national merit scholar dedicated to the study of anthropology, but found his true passion in the pursuit of fishing.
Steve was known for his sense of humor, boisterous personality, and loud voice. He lived his life by his love of the water, spending much of his life fishing, clamming and tying flies. He loved music, listening loud and often to Queen, Frank Zappa, and Jethro Tull to name a few. A dedicated cat owner with a deep love for animals, especially more than people, as he would often gleefully remark.
We hope for all that loved and mourn him that he is remembered for his wit and humor. That all will remember him when out on the water.
He is survived by his daughters Siobhan; Devin (Weston); Grandson Aldous; sister Penny, Niece Lauren; and Aunt Barbara.
He was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Penelope and brother Kenneth. He is now with them in peace.
