Catherine Jeanette (Owens) Frank was born In Jersey City, New Jersey on February 9, 1941 to Michael Owens and Jeanette Redfield Owens. Catherine, “Kitty” was the younger sister to Belinda Owens, who predeceased at the very young age of 24. After Kitty’s father passed away as a young girl, her mother remarried, and moved to Hollywood Beach, Florida where she graduated high school from South Broward HS. After graduating high school Kitty moved back to New Jersey settling in Tom River with her mother where began her education and career in nursing. During her early career nursing, she met John Frank, also of Toms River. During the early years of her career Kitty and John would marry and have one son, Michael Frank. Kitty`s lengthy career, over 40 years in nursing was mostly spent at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Early on in her career after having her son, she earned her RN. It was during this career she made her dearest and most loving, lifelong friends, who were the sources of much happiness, many of which still to the moment of her passing. Kitty had many passions from being a voracious reader, a person who loved the arts, music, dancing, swimming and especially travel. Over the course of her life, she would never be away from the coastline, as her true love was the ocean. After retirement, she moved to Sebastian Florida, where she had long hair ties to be closer to her son and his new family. Kitty learned the value of family from her large Irish Catholic family with whom she valued and loved without equivalent. This love of family made Kitty an amazing mother, grandmother, and eventually great grandmother. No holiday, birthday or any needed moment Kitty was always there enthusiastically, uniquely, and lovingly by their side. Her sense of pride and appreciation for family were maybe her greatest qualities next to her incredible wit. During her final days that wit was on full display until her final moment. The loss of her presence, voice, and sense of humor will be difficult, but she was adamant those should never be our last memories of her. She would rather raise a toast and share a laugh to a life well lived. Kitty is survived, by her son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Angela, their children, Patrick, Kate, and Michael, and great grandchildren, Ares, and Finn. Kitty was lovingly cared for by John Frank up to her final moments. Kitty wished that there be no formal services or funeral. Rather for anyone wanting to share her memory, “raise a glass, have a laugh and listen to some good music, preferably by the water”.
