Linda Janice Weber Raively, loving wife of James Raively Jr., left us far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
From Fortescue to Fort Pierce, Linda called several beautiful places home through the years, though Greenwich, New Jersey is the home Linda thought of most fondly. She often said Victorian houses were her favorite, and she was lucky to call two of them home during her lifetime.
Linda enjoyed history, especially learning about local folklore and tracing her family’s genealogy, watching true crime, making new recipes, and spending time with her family and friends.
The only daughter born to Robert and Janice Weber, Linda grew up with her parents and brothers in South Jersey. Her childhood was filled with abundant joy: a home filled with affection and energy, parents who adored her, and carefree summers spent at Gandy’s Beach and Ocean City.
After graduating from Bridgeton High School in 1968, Linda started the greatest role of her life: motherhood. Linda welcomed her first daughter, Shelly Sewell, in 1970, and her second, Christina Raively, in 1981. Linda was a doting and dedicated parent. She showed her daughters how to embrace life’s challenges and savor its beauty. In 1979, when she and Jim married, Linda gained a son, James Raively III, making their family complete.
For the entirety of her life, Linda devoted her time to creating a nurturing home for her family. She made every garden bloom, filled every belly, and lived life at full volume. Linda’s unconditional support shaped her families’ lives in profound ways: She was a loving wife, a caring and attentive mother, a loyal sister, a reliable friend, and the absolute best Mimi. Those who loved her are crushed by her passing.
Linda is predeceased by her brothers Stephen, Peter, Robert Jr., and Thomas Weber. She is survived by her husband, Jim Raively Jr.; her children: Shelly Sewell Lombardi, James (Kari) Raively III, Christina (Jeremy) Raively Allen; her six grandchildren: Brandon and Marissa Lombardi, James IV and Jacob Raively, Loreli and Felix Allen; as well as by her brother, Jeffrey Weber; her sister-in-law, Jill Handwerk; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
The impact Linda had on her family and friends will be long remembered. She taught us to be bold and confident, to recognize the richness of life’s simple joys, to dance and sing whenever your favorite song plays, and to hold tightly to those you love. Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, an organization Linda supported. A memorial service for Linda will be held in her home state of New Jersey.
