William “Bill” Krueger, 86, of Vero Beach, FL passed away peacefully under hospice care on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Bill was born in Alpha, IL to Floyd and Agnes (Patterson) Krueger. He graduated from AlWood High School in Woodhull, IL and briefly attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL. He married Dixie (Strine) Krueger on February 3, 1979.
Bill was a member of the National Guard out of Galva, IL from 1960-1966 during which he also started his career at IBM. Bill was proud to have spent over 25 years with IBM as a technician, both in Moline, IL and Boca Raton, FL. After retiring from IBM he worked many more years as a robotics technician at Sankyo Robotics in Boca Raton.
Bill loved playing basketball and football in his younger years and was later initiated into his high school Hall of Fame. He continued to play basketball while at Bradley University as well as recreationally. Bill also enjoyed time with his friends and family and many great vacations to places like Germany, Australia, Colorado, Smokey Mountains and the Florida Keys just to name a few.
Survivors include his brothers, John (Linda) Krueger, Jim (Peggy) Krueger, Dean (Kim) Krueger; his sister Margaret (Gary) Brooks; his former wife, Nancy Krueger; son, Brian Krueger; daughter, Andrea Kurth; stepdaughters Bobbi (Rick) Thomsen; Terri (Mike) Siegel; Jill (Mark) Osowski; grandchildren Adrian, Aaron, Ian, Sarah, Brandon, Damon, Mitchell, Bryce, Kayla, and Andrew; great-grandchildren Ava, Lily, Lexie, Braxton, Maddox, and Kinsley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his spouse, Dixie Krueger; both parents; brothers Earl Krueger, Gerald “Jerry” Krueger and Richard “Dick” Krueger; sisters Shirley Nelson and Janet Holdsworth; and granddaughter Samantha.
