Susan Martin Craig

November 05, 1946 ~ August 13, 2024

Susan would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus: a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be energized while socializing, playing cards, and pursuing her artistic talents to her heart’s content. Fun, laughter, and love are guaranteed. Food and wine are delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her family and friends to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.

Susan is survived by her children Kathy Craig-Mylius (John), Shawn Craig (Michelle), grandchildren Luca and Andrew Mylius, mother Ruth Martin, sister Mary Beth Brown, brothers Jim Martin (Karen) and Ben Martin, and sister-in-law Pat Craig.

She is predeceased by her husband Tim, sister-in-law Nancy Cafferata, brothers-in-law, Greg Craig and Robert Brown, and dear friend Drew Banas.

A celebration of Susan’s life is planned for Vero Beach, FL in February 2025, date and place to be determined.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations in Susan’s memory to the VNA & Hospice Foundation of Treasure Coast. vnatc.org

Brian and I send our sincere condolences in the loss of your mother, sister and friend. We had many fun bridge games back in the day in Akron with Susan and Tim. We were able to reconnect in Naples with them and Drew and Doris a few years before Tim passed. I’m sorry I did not know she was ill. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Love and prayers, Joyce and Brian Parsell

Dear Susan’s family:
While Susan is enjoying her new status, we here are missing her greatly and hope she realizes what a lonely space has been created where she once was in our lives. We do have fond memories of her with us that won’t soon be forgotten. Her laugh was something I think I still hear so she must be having fun in this new existence. At least we all hope she is.
Susan was an amazing and wonderful woman and friend. We feel very fortunate to have known her and to have met her wonderful family. She helped me out many times with my medical questions and I relied on her knowledge a great deal.
May she be forever in our hearts and thoughts.
Love, Pam and Waring

Susan had so much kindness, fun and laughter to share with family and friends and helping those in need. I first new my cousin, Susan, through our Aunt Lucille, who was like a second mother to us all and would sing the praises of all her nieces and nephews. Susan was very special and a joy to be around. Tim and Susan’s trip to Alaska brought out all of her great talents as she took special care of Tim during his illness. She will be dearly missed until we all join her for a big reunion. Much love❤️

There are no words…

Our friendship with Susan’s family is such a treasure.

I feel so blessed to know that her work here is complete, and that she is now perfectly healed and at peace in her body and soul.

Celebration can really come
about only where fear and love, joy and sorrow, tears and smiles can exist together

Celebration is the acceptance of life in a constantly increasing awareness of its preciousness and brevity.

All of our love to all of you and in honor of Susan’s courage and wisdom.
Shalom

My husband and I shared a friendship with Susan through my sister, her dear friend Marge Rankin. She and Tim were both special, and contributed joy, love, fun and kindness to my life. I am grateful to have known Susan and Tim.

Well done Susan!! You handled this past mission with grace, kindness, laughter, intelligence and flair. Good news for the new assignment…there is another perk…it’s always 4:00 pm there. So sit back and enjoy! Eric and I will meet you there when our assignments here are completed as well. Have the silly hats ready and we will have some great fun once again!

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
