On Saturday, March 7, 2020, Michael Patrick Jordan passed away after a year long battle with cancer, at age 59.
He was born on July 13, 1960 in New Hartford, NY, to Charles and Betty (Cole) Jordan. He had one son, Michael Charles Jordan.
Michael was a US Marine, serving his country from 1979 to 1982, after which he pursued his passion for music by moving into a career as a DJ and talk show host, using the name Michael Lee, in the radio industry, while working at various radio stations in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and Connecticut. He also played guitar and wrote songs.
After leaving the radio industry he chose to focus the remainder of his life on his desire to help others overcome alcoholism, a disease that he was able to eventually beat, and remained sober for the last decade of his life. He was an active participant of AA through his final years. Mike had a very quick wit, a genuine sense of humor, and a passion to help all those who were struggling and in need. A favorite saying of his was “others can only treat you the way you allow them to”.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Charles Jordan, and his mother Betty Jordan Davis. He is survived by the absolute and forever love of his life Ingrid Persson Kraft, his son Michael (Mikey) Jordan, his brothers Robert, Kenneth and Alan Jordan, and his sisters in law Stacy Jordan, Doreen Jordan and Christine Jordan. In addition he had many cousins, and also nephews and nieces Adam and Daryll Jordan, Alec Jordan, Kimberly Jordan, Charles (CJ) and Jennifer (Jordan)Woodman, Todd Jordan, Kyle and Rachael Jordan, and his beloved cat Wee Wee.
