David Thomas Snyder of Vero Beach, FL passed away on May 27, 2024 after a short illness. Born in 1936 in Steubenville, Ohio, he is preceded in death by his parents F. David Snyder and Mary A. (Cavanaugh) Snyder and by his sister Maryanne (Jack, deceased) Meek.
David is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years Alice (Potasnik) Snyder, daughters Mary Alice (Edward) Stopyra of Vero Beach and Julianne Snyder of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, brother Charles (Donna) Snyder and sister Marilyn (Gary, deceased) Ford both of Steubenville.
David graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School in 1954 and Franciscan University of Steubenville (formerly The College of Steubenville) in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and later became a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox and the U.S. Air Force Reserve, worked for a major public accounting firm and for two different metals manufacturing companies retiring from Freedom Forge (Burnham, Pennsylvania) as the Corporate Tax Manager.
David enjoyed serving his church and communities and, specifically, the St Vincent de Paul Society in State College, Pennsylvania and Vero Beach, Florida and as an usher in the churches he attended throughout his lifetime. He made beautiful wood furniture and stained glass pieces and was a lifetime, steadfast, Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at 1745 14th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960 or to the VNA Hospice House at 901 37th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Dave will be missed by so many, his wife and family at the top of the list but also his neighbors and friends. He was a classic gentleman, quiet ways. Always willing to help in any way he could. I knew him as a neighbor and a gym pal. His sense of humor was always present in the aerobic classes. Rest in Peace my friend.

Many of us who volunteer at SVdP on 14 Avenue remember David fondly. He was a faithful and inspiring member of the Society.
