Robert T Marra, 90, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away on April 15, 2024
Robert, fondly known as Bob, was born to Mario and Jean Marra, on June 18, 1933 in Flushing, NY.
He was a talented baseball player, starring at Long Island University. He signed with the Brooklyn Dodger organization, but an arm injury ended his baseball dream prematurely. Soon after Bob joined the Marines and was eventually honorably discharged for health reasons. Bob would then start is professional career with Con Edison. Con Ed would be the only employer he would know retiring in 1994.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Arlene C. Marra. He was the father of Matthew Marra and his wife Elisa of Naples, FL, Craig Marra of Waldwick, NJ and Carolyn Muller of Nazareth, PA; grandfather of Robert S Marra and his wife Mary, Halle Marra Gates and her husband Chris, Ronald Muller Jr, Kelly Muller Bove and her husband Tony and Kyle Muller: great-grandfather of Emery and Caden Bove. He spent the last 9 years enjoying life with his partner Linda Barberi. They took many wonderful trips together over those years.
Aside from his love for baseball, Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing until age 87. He also enjoyed running having competed in The New York City Marathon and The Marine Corp Marathon. Late in life he took great pride in giving back. He enjoyed his time volunteering at the Indian River Food Bank and Dogs for Life.
